Sirenity: Newsletter

May 24th – May 30th/2020

The Stamp Rally, other museum donations, the Stamp Rally, Birthdays, the Stamp Rally, first Flick & C.J moments, the Stamp Rally, and so much more. Here’s a look at what happened this past week in Sirenity!

Ree and Reneigh acting like twins~

Sunday was a glorious easygoing kind of day, despite the recurring nightmare that is the Stamp rally. Started it off with the news that Klaus wanted to leave my island. OF COURSE you can leave and never return, I didn’t want to recruit you to this island anyways, it’s not you… it’s me.

Of Course the Sunday Turnip Market was a must, little ole Daisy Mae and I came up with a decent deal at whopping 94 Bells a Turnip. So of course I just had to buy… 700 Turnips (65,800 Bells). Plopped those guys down in my house and spent most of the day terra-forming out a few details here and there. Next thing I know it’s almost midnight and I am making my first ever wish on a shooting star! That one wish quickly turned to 14 wishes, and a chat with Celeste who I am sure is the reason the stars were aglow tonight and she gave me a lovely DIY: Gemini Closet. Overall a very lucky day indeed!

The day started off with a beach run! I found 5 Gemini fragments, 1 Large star fragment, and 9 regular star fragments. I was able to make my first wand! I also used the Gemini fragments to build up a Gemini Closet to send to a Gemini friend of mine. I also sent a letter with a wooden chair as a gift to Nana, because she just keeps giving me stuff! Literally the sweetest little bean! A quick run to the museum resulted in yet another Stamp Rally completion.

My first Kicks visit! I always try to buy at least one outfit’s worth of clothes a day in Sirenity. I’m supporting my community while also supporting my clothing addiction. I am already contemplating adding some …AI like characters just so I can use their houses for my storage, it’s just a thought for now though.

Also made an impulse move to sell only some of my turnips as Timmy and Tommy were offering me a whopping 138. Now that may not seem like much, but last week my turnip prices sat in the low 40s, and I had to scramble near weeks end just to make a profit. I ended up being able to get a decent price from a friend’s island so that I would at least make some profit. So I had a tough decision to make so I decided that I would only sell some of them. So I sold 300 of my turnips at 138 bells( for a profit of 13,200 bells). I will save the remaining 400 in hopes that maybe it’ll get even higher!

Announcements from Isabelle: There will be an official meteor shower tonight! So exciting!

My first visit with Flick! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for this string bean to show up. I wish I could have him as a villager, I love the Flick aesthetic. I took the opportunity to scavenge my island for every bug I could find. I tried my best to get the fancier looking ones and eventually elected the “Great Purple Emperor” as my first commission!

In other news… Klaus is out, and now it’s time for the scramble to get someone in before some rando shows up. I have a friend trying to get Ellie for me, but we all know that the move out system isn’t the easiest to work to your benefit. However, after some time my friend wa able to get back to me! Ellie is on her way!

My friendly neighborhood Peggy happened to be indoors today so I popped in for a visit. That deary gave me a Shell Table DIY! Exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for! I did immediately build one and place it on my island. Some other things I was also able to obtain were: The Cold Chill reaction from Renée, the Eusthenopteron which I donated to the museum, I got both Bamboo-Shoot Lamp & Wooden Chair DIYs but I already know both so I threw them in my house for now.

It was a beautiful night for a meteor shower~

Announcements from Isabelle: Welcome to Sirenity, New Resident: Ellie!

A calmer day here on Sirenity, Leif was in town and I took the opportunity to buy and place some more shrubs around my island. I definitely don’t have enough flowers and foliage yet to get to the beauty levels I require Sirenity to obtain. Scored an abundance of the different types of star fragments, a welcome reward for all my hard work last night making wishes.

I also took a quick trip to Harv’s Island, did some modeling for a weekly Look Book that I started doing. Other than that I took some down time to move a few things here and there then called it a day.

May 28, 2020

A beautiful day to do another Stamp Rally, and to welcome C.J. to Sirenity for the first time. Grabbed me a few DIY’s here and there from villagers and beaches alike. I even managed to find a fish I hadn’t caught yet while trying to get some fish to commission C.J. with. So I got to donate a Nibble Fish to the museum, and requested a good ole fashion Loach to start my collection off.

It also happened to be Renée’s Birthday today! I headed on over and gave her a gift to commemorate the day. Why she wanted Rasher there as her guest, I will never know.

The highlight of my day had to be when a friend managed to get me in the know for an Island with high Turnip prices allowing visitors. At a whopping 602 Bells I didn’t waste any time grabbing the last of the remaining Turnips I am happy to have saved and headed over. I was even able to get some extra DIY’s off my chest in trade off for letting me visit. So I sold 400 of my turnips at 602 bells( for a profit of 203,200 bells). I bought 700 on Sunday at an expense of 65,800 Bells, and sold them at two different times totaling to 282,200 Bells, giving me a total profit of 216,400 Bells for this week. Friends are a powerful resource!

I used that money to pay off an incline I had been working on in town and threw the rest in the bank to eventually go towards my current mortgage. Overall it was a pretty great day, especially for my pockets.

Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally, Stamp Rally.

Another great day for fishing, the rain was coming down pretty hard in game. Plenty of opportunities to get myself some extra bells from a few Red Snapper and a Oarfish or two. Saharah also happened to be visiting town today! Honestly wasn’t too interested today I still bought one of everything (which is my standard) and went with the extra mysterious flooring using my tickets, and immediately just tossed it into my storage to go back to fishing.

I celebrated another incline, probably the fourth this week. I’ve been giving my villagers raised backyards so I still have a lot more inclines (and bells) to put into just the residential area. I’m very big on making things feel equal I generally want all the villagers to have an equal amount of space for their homes (although because of the layout I have a few of them get an extra block or two)

Of course my Turnip prices have started to raise again now that we are getting closer to the end of the week. This morning it jumped back up to 117 Bells, and the afternoon brought us a profit of a whole 10 Bells at 127 Bells. At least I was already able to get some very good prices earlier on in the week.

Honestly everyday I wake up and forget about the Stamp Rally, until that dreaded moment when I’m bringing my fossils to Blathers for inspection. The moment he starts glistening with joy as he explains the event for the one millionth time, is the moment the void inside me opens up. I always think, “Today’s the day.” I tell myself I’ve already done it, it’s not important, I don’t need to do it again. Then I try to walk back out the museum and just can’t do it. I just have to complete it… so I did, again. I have been debating on whether or not I should maybe try giving a set of the prizes to each of the permanent residents. Mind you I’m not positive on how the gifting furniture mechanics work, I haven’t done it a whole lot yet. Ideally I’d want to have them show the plaques off in their homes as if they participated in the event and obtained them themselves. However, I’ve noticed that some items I gift them end up in their home and some do not, so I really don’t want to gift it to them if the items are just going to disappear. Either it was only one of many thoughts I had on using up the extra plaques since selling them just doesn’t seem right.

On a different note, I had a villager visiting the campsite today, Melba. She is actually kind of cute, and I did actually try to recruit her for the island even though she isn’t on my dream team. I more so wanted to just figure out how it worked so I would be more knowledgeable for when someone more important does show up.

Now I do use the word “try” for a reason. It started with a game of cards, red or black, I chose red and it was correct, so far so good. Then Melba is all like “It must be fate~” and calls up good ole Mr. Nook. Melba is like there’s a problem; and for a moment I was almost worried, thinking that they would let you have all these villager opportunities dangled in front of you even if you didn’t have the room for them. Melba the smart little cutie then recommended a solution, “I could ask around if anyone wanted to leave?” and I’m like “Yeah Girl, you go get it.” Honestly, I almost thought that I was going to have another cutie joining the party, but the news came back and it was not good. The choices were Melba or Reneigh. Obviously, there is no way I am splitting up the golden duo that is Renée and Reneigh, so that was the end of that predicament. However, I still considered it a very valuable learning experience.

I didn’t do very much else, I felt I had pretty jam packed Animal Crossing week, and I can’t wait for the next one! So I ended the night by listenin’ to some Farewell by K.K. Slider. Make sure to get those secret songs in your pockets!

Clearly I am just bad at games~
